Last Friday afternoon, with the help of local high school students, Maple Hall was transformed from an empty space into a brightly decorated space full of superheroes of every kind.

Rotary Club members arranged curated silent
and live auction items in preparation for nearly 110 guests.

Saturday, August 23, the Rotary Club of La Conner, complete with superhero capes, joined with many “Community Service Superheroes” at our annual Harvesting Hope Auction.

As the community gathered, Andrew Anderson shared background harp melodies while the harvest feast was laid by La Conner Seafood and Prime Rib.

This year, former Rotary member Susan Macek was honored with her third Paul Harris Fellow award to acknowledge her lifetime career in community service,

particularly her work bringing the La Conner Swinomish library project to fruition.

As has been our tradition, Education and Literacy are the focus of fundraising activities. Support for schools, students, extended scholastic programs, and other related needs are carefully considered by Rotary committees for the most beneficial return for donated funds.

Swinomish carver Kevin Paul described his piece being donated for auction and sang a brief blessing song.

In 2026, the Harvesting Hope auction will be held on August 29.
