It may be hard to imagine with several inches of snow on the ground in mid-February, but La Conner Rotary tulip sales WILL be coming. This is our second biggest fundraiser of the year, and we look forward to bright colors and the opportunity to fill our coffers to support our charitable work locally, regionally and internationally.

During the past year, we have funded scholarships for La Conner High Schools seniors, supported the La Conner Regional Library and the Conner Regional Park, the food bank and weekend food backpacks for needy students, after-school programs and literacy programs to name just a few. We also have supported clean water and sanitation projects and numerous schools and school kids in Honduras and have sent teens to do charitable work in Central America.

All of this is possible because our community supports us by buying our tulips, attending our annual auction and other small fundraising events. You helped us raise more than $16,000 from tulip sales last spring (and we’re looking to grow that this year) and more than $45,000 from our auction last August. We also made smaller amounts on our annual Smelt Festival Breakfast and Santa Breakfast.
