Rotary of La Conner distributed 50 dictionaries to the third grade students at La Conner Elementary School.

Art and ice cream sundaes highlighted the fun event!

The dictionary project was October 23, 2009 at La Conner Elementary.  This is the fourth year that the club has sponsored this project.

We gave out 50 dictionaries to La Conner third graders.

The students made a pop-up card with a "talking mouth."  They made a cover design for their card using stick on foam letters.  Later, in the classroom, students will look up a word and definition in their new dictionaries and write it inside the talking mouth card.

The third graders were then treated to ice cream sundaes.

Ginny Dugaw ordered the dictionaries. Dave Rapella and George Kynl picked up the dictionaries from the storage unit and delivered them to the grade school.  Margaret and Fred Martin placed the name plates in the books.  Tamera Tollefson led the art activity.  Danielle Mullen, Heather Bourns and Lee Carlson created the ice cream sundaes.

The third graders had FUN!
